Youth Practitioner

John has been a valued member of the Youth Team for some time now. He began his journey with Youth Interventions as a volunteer. John felt strongly that he had life experience that would be shared by many of the young people who come to Y.I. and he has been right. He has a great sense of humour and fun, but John is also kind and compassionate, and he cares very much about the young people he works with and identifies with much of their own experiences.

“My name is John and I’ve been working at Youth Interventions for a while now. I am a full time student studying Construction Management at Glasgow Caledonian University whilst also working at the hub on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I have a deep passion for working with young people as I can remember what it was like to be a teenager and the problems we go through. During my time at Youth Interventions, we have helped a lot of young people. I believe that I have been the type of person to them that I needed when I was younger. The hub is a vibrant, welcoming, and friendly environment in which our young people love to attend and feel welcome at anytime if they need someone to talk to or just to hang out. I have many hobbies and enjoy watching football and attending music events when possible.”
