Christie Campbell

Youth Development Worker

Since leaving school I’ve always had an interest and a passion in working with children and young people. I gained an SVQ in children’s care learning and development and worked within the early years setting supporting children before they entered primary school. Later, I worked within a residential childcare setting where I gained my SVQ in Social Work, Children and Young People and an HNC in Social Care.

Before coming on board with Youth Interventions I created and ran a transitions service for young people with additional support needs, allowing them the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications after leaving school. I also ran a summer play scheme for children with complex additional support needs completing many training courses including first aid, epilepsy awareness and autism awareness and managing a team of staff. I am currently studying a BA in Childhood Studies and aim to progress into primary teaching when I graduate.

The young people who attend Youth Interventions bring so much fun and humour and they’re a joy to work with! They recognise the hub as a safe, welcoming space and know that they can trust everyone who works here.
